The Best Filter Tip Size Is 12mm. Here's Why.
Quick answer: We think 12mm is the best filter tip size for anyone rolling king size, cones, blunts or hash holes. A 12mm tip gives the widest draw, holds the mouth end firm, and leaves room for bigger rolls. We designed our 12mm (12mm x 30mm) for exactly that. If you roll slim or 1 1/4 papers, size down to 6mm–8mm.
Yes, we sell it. Here's the honest case.
Why 12mm?
- A wider draw. A wider channel means less effort per pull than a narrow tip in the same roll.
- A firm mouth end. A wide tip fills the end of a big roll, so the paper doesn't pinch or flatten around it.
- Built for big rolls. King size cones, blunts and hash holes need a wide base. A thin tip leaves gaps and lets the end collapse.
- Less clogging. A wider opening takes longer to narrow from residue or loose bits than a slim one.
How 12mm compares
| Das tip | Size | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Slim Jim | 6mm x 28mm | Single wide, slim papers |
| Midway | 7mm x 28mm | 1 1/4, king size slim |
| Big Boy | 8mm x 37mm | 1 1/4, king size, standard blunts |
| 12mm | 12mm x 30mm | King size, cones, fat blunts, hash holes |
Full fit details are in the filter tip size guide, and rolling around a wide tip is covered in 12mm filter tips.
Made for hash holes
Hash holes have a core of rosin or hash, so they're usually rolled fat. A 12mm tip matches that width and gives a solid base to pack around. See how to roll a hash hole for the method.
Who should size down?
12mm isn't for every roll. Pick a narrower tip if:
- You roll single wide or slim papers (6mm Slim Jim).
- You roll 1 1/4 and want a slim finish (7mm Midway or 8mm Big Boy).
- You prefer a tighter, slower draw.
How to try it
